Fiberplex VIM-1832-S-LC LightViper Analog and Digital Output Tail End Unit, 32 Sends/8 Returns
The Fiberplex VIM-1832-S-LC is used in connection with theVRK-1832 (analog) or VIS-4832 (digital) to achieve a 32×8 fiber-optic transportsystem. This VIM-1832 is normally the “tail” end for Stage to FOH or drivesnake applications and the VIM-1032 serves as a split of the 32 incomingchannels for the monitor location or other audio distribution points.
The LightViper VIM-1832 and optional VIM-1032 combine witheither a VRK-1832 (analog) or VIS-4832 (digital) to to create a powerful 32x8audio distribution system. The VIM-1832 features 8 audio inputs which areselectable between analog line level and AES3 digital. The 32 audio outputs ofboth units are both analog line level and AES3 digital and are simultaneouslyavailable.
The VIM-1832 is the clock master in the system. I have theability to generate its own superior quality Word Clock, or alternately acceptan external Word Clock. There can be only one VIM-1832 in a given system. TheVIM-1032 is a clock slave and requires a VIM-1832 to operate. It has clockoutput for synchronizing external equipment and for distribution of clock.
Both the VIM-1832 and VIM-1032 feature a fiber pass throughtransmit connector which provides a freshly driven optical signal which can bedaisy chained to additional VIM-1032 units for audio distribution applications.
The system features a “control” connection which is a TTLdata port which appears on an EtherCon connector. It allows LightViperaccessory devices such as the DMX4o (DMX lighting control) or MD3(RS422/232/MIDI) to be connected to the unit.
